Celebrating African History Month Languichatte Debordus
Posted On 01/24/2010 21:19:51
Theodore Beaubrun LANGUICHATTE DEBORDUS
Theodore Beaubrun (1918-1998) - Haitian  comedian and actor.

Theodore Beaubrun was one of the best Haitian comedians that ever lived.

Theodore Beaubrun was the head of the  national theatre in Haiti

Theodore Beaubrun was the Haitian George Jefferson.

Theodore Beaubrun was known by his character name "Languichatte Debordus".

His sitcom Languichatte Au 20eme Sciecle (Languichatte inthe 20th Century) was the only source of Haitian laughter for an entire generation.

Below - As posted in a New York Times Article:

"In a career that spanned more than 40 years, Mr. Beaubrun delighted generations of Haitians with his sardonic comedy on radio, television and in films.

His comedy transcended class and color differences.

He also was able to retain his popularity under the various governments that came to power in Haiti, not a small feat in a country where some artists were discredited and others killed for their political associations."

Theodore Beaubrun was born in Port-au-Prince,on Dec. 26, 1918, Mr. Beaubrun began his career in 1942 by publishing a weekly pamphlet of his  comic works.

He later moved into theater writing and also performed in various musical and plays.

In the 1960's, he created one of the first Haitian television show.

One of his more famous routines depicted a typical middle-class Haitian family, with the  father sitting on a rocking chair reading his newspaper, his wife sewing and his two children playing.

The father suddenly declares that if he wins the lottery his life would consist of living in Paris, drinking champagne and courting beautiful women.

When the impertinent son asks what would happen if the father doesn't win the lottery, the father replies, ''Well, it would be Port-au-Prince, Haitian liquor and your mother.''

HAPPY DR MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY
Posted On 01/18/2010 21:05:15

I speak for those whose land is being laid waste, whose culture is being subverted. I speak for the poor in America who are paying the double price of smashed hopes at home and death and corruption. I speak as an American to the leaders of my own nation. The great initiative in this war is ours. The initiative to stop it must be ours. Martin Luther King, Jr., The Trumpet of Conscience, 1967.

PEACE OUT!

Mimi's Prayer for Haiti
Posted On 01/15/2010 02:37:18

i10.photobucket.com/albums/a116/KillahK22/HaitianFlag.gifLoss can come upon us suddenly and overwhelm us with grief. Giving ourself time and space to heal, and being real with the Lord about our pain can help. Consider these  words of comfort from Scriptures and pray the prayer below asking the Father to give you new hope and strength to go on.

Dear Lord,
Please help our people in this time of loss and overwhelming grief. Most won't understand why  life is filled with this pain and heartache. But may they turn their eyes to you as they seek to find the strength to trust in your faithfulness. Let them wait on you and not despair; Let them quietly wait for your salvation. Our heart is crushed, but I know that you will not abandon us forever. Please show us your compassion, Lord. Help us through the pain so that we will hope in you again. I believe this promise in your Word to send us fresh mercy each day. Though we can't see past today, I hope we can trust that your great love will never fail us.
Amen

May God Richly Bless You All With His Salvation!

Mimi

Peace Out!!!!

Production Coordinators
Posted On 05/24/2009 23:57:32

Production coordinators work in film, in television and with theatrical companies across the nation and around the world. The production coordinator is responsible for making sure that a project stays on schedule and that all people, equipment and materials are in the right places at the right times. This includes everything from arranging meals and accommodations for cast and crew to resolving contract issues and communication breakdowns.

A production coordinator is intimately involved in every detail of a film or stage project. As such, production coordinator jobs are a much-sought-after prize by many in the field. Some production coordinators start off as interns, sometimes with low pay or even unpaid. This kind of position is excellent for the young production coordinator who is looking to bypass the hassle of applying to a lot of different production coordinator jobs. Other production coordinators begin with regional theaters in cities.  If we take the time and invest in our community that I discovered with talents, and keep it controlled, things might seemed just a little different with less aggrevation and stress.

We can involved everyone in our community to execute a film challenges.

Haitians Among Victims in Binghamton Shooting
Posted On 04/09/2009 21:56:24

The shootings at the American Civic Association in Bingamton, New York on Friday, April 3rd took the lives of people from several countries including 2 from Haiti. Marc Henry Bernard and Maria Sonia Bernard of Endicott, New York had their dreams of becoming American Citizens cut short by the bullets of gunman Jiverly Wong, who ended up taking his own life after killing 13 others.

Charles Lifrantz, 42, a Haitian who’s been in Binghamton since January 2008, hid with others in the boiler room. “Everybody was scared,” he said. “If they came to that room, nobody would be alive. That room is too small. Nobody can run away.”

Talent
Posted On 03/01/2009 22:43:32

Talent is an ability expressed by the Metaconscious mind, comprising mastery by the Self. With further study and practice, this ability becomes anchored in the super conscious mind, where it can directly express the ensouling entity. This deeper development of ability is referred to as a gift, genius, a spiritual power or siddhi. Talent is natural abilities or qualities which make someone perform in a better way. A talented person is one who possesses unusual innate ability in some field or activity.

Doing easily what others find difficult is talent; doing what is impossible for talent is genius.

Natural ability without education has more often attained to glory and virtue than education without natural ability.

Perhaps someone might want to translate in Creole or French for me...I would appreciate it!

Peace out!

Mimi
