Content: Sydneys Latin American Film Festival (SLAFF) Sydneys Latin American Film Festival (SLAFF) is pleased to inform you that their call for entries for the 4th Sydney Latin American Film Festival is now open. The deadline for submissions is 30 April 2009. We would be very grateful if you were able to distribute our media release among your students, contacts and networks. Please go to the link below to access the media release: The 4th Sydney Latin American Film Festival will take place in Sydney , Australia between the 2nd and the 13th of September and for the first time this year will recognise the Best Feature Film, Best Documentary and Best Short as voted by our audiences with cash prizes. Films must be contemporary Latin American or International and related to Latin America in terms of content, production or co-production. We are also interested in submissions from Carribbean film makers and would love to show films from Haiti. The director of the opening night film is invited to the Festival to introduce their film and also participate in associated activities such as master classes and/or workshops. We have had the pleasure of guest filmmakers such as Juan Carlos Cremata ( Cuba ), Jorge Carmona ( Peru ) and Juan Fischer ( Colombia ) who all presented their films.  As a not-for-profit community organisation, proceeds from the Festival are directed  back into Latin American community organizations through our Community Support Program.  Submissions can be made until 30 April 2009 using the online submission system on the festival website: All instructions and forms are available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.  For further information please visit our website: Warm regards Reem Algharabali Curation Team Sydney Latin American Film Festival 2009
